A SECOND half strike by Greek front-runner Dimitrios Papadopoulos earned the Clarets reserves a 1-0 win over Wolves at Turf Moor last night.
Unbeaten in two Avon Insurance League Premier Division outings, having opened with a 0-0 draw at Rotherham, the Clarets took maximum points when the Greek under-21 international turned a Lenny Johnrose cross beyond the clutches of former Burnley keeper Marlon Beresford.
The first period was a tight affair with few chances, though striker Tony Ellis made an impact testing Beresford.
The ex-Claret was also equal to another Papadopoulos effort as the summer signing sought to add to his tally in the second half.
The only negative aspect for Burnley was an injury to centre back Earl Davis, who took a knock in the opening 45 minutes.
The Clarets rerserve team's next fixture is in the league away at Tranmere Rovers next Wednseday.
Burnley: Cennamo; McGregor, Scott, Davis (Eves) Gnohere; Maylett, Mullin, Waine (Rasmussen), Johnrose; Papadopoulos, Ellis.
