PAUL Robinson was caught behind the wheel just 22 minutes after police released him after a charge of driving while disqualified.
Blackburn magistrates heard that both offences were committed in the early hours of Wednesday and were in breach of a 12-month disqualification imposed by the same court on Friday.
On Friday the magistrates ordered Robinson, of Devon Road, Blackburn, to do 150 hours community service after reading a pre sentence report. The magistrates sitting on Wednesday read the same report and an additional report prepared by the probation service that morning and put Robinson on probation for 12 months. He was also disqualified for two years and fined £150 with £55 costs.
Richard Prew, defending, said that after being charged on Wednesday Robinson had stupidly returned to his car to drive it home because he did not want it to get damaged.
"It was the same officer who arrested him again," said Mr Prew.
