FIRE chiefs are to spend a penny to ensure female firefighters and disabled workers and visitors can do the same at Bury Fire Station.
A total of £20,000 has been made available to install toilet, shower and locker room facilities for women at The Rock station.
The funding allocation also includes provision for disabled access to the building.
Greater Manchester Fire Authority will spend a total of £668,100 on similar toilet and access facilities at 16 other stations around the county.
