ST ANNES' fourths and their long-serving captain Tim Rawstron made their first cup final appearance in 21 years, but it was Postal C.C. that claimed the Wareing Cup by 82 runs.
Postal scored 209-8 in their 40 overs which included 64 from Keith Reid, 44 from Steve Goodfellow and 43 from Neil Hankey. For St Annes, Nigel Connolly took two wickets for 28, Roger Hughes had two for 31 and Paul McCabe, Tom Heap, Mick Kelliher and Paul Wilks picked up a wicket apiece.
In reply St Annes reached 127-8. Paul McCabe top scored with 27 and, for Postal, John Tite took three wickets for 25.
