BLACKPOOL Opera House was in the dark on Sunday night -- and so were some theatre goers as the scheduled weekly show Best Of West End and Broadway presented by Lisa Riley was suddenly cancelled.
A few made their way to Blackpool's Grand Theatre and enjoyed Halfway To Paradise -- the Billy Fury Story, but all enjoyed a full refund on tickets and the promise that normal service would be resumed by this Sunday's performance.
A spokesperson for Opera House owner Leisure Parcs said: "Technical problems prevented the Best Of West End and Broadway going ahead on Sunday night, but all ticket buyers were offered a full refund and this Sunday's show will go ahead as usual."
A spokesperson for the show itself added on the cancellation: "It was something that was outside the control of the producers."
But rumours abound that the lavish set and technical requirements required for huge Irish show Lord Of The Dance -- also running nightly at the Opera House until September 15 -- may have thrown a spanner in the works.
Presenter Lisa took a two-week break herself recently to put some filming of You've Been Framed in the bag and Stars In Their Eyes host Matthew Kelly stepped in to take the reins.
But the former Emmerdale star should be back on stage in Blackpool this weekend.
