BLACKPOOL

THE Grundy Art Gallery, in Queen Street, has a poetry recital on September 4 from 12.30pm to about 1.45 pm. Three readers will read a selection of poems by W. H. Auden and international guest poet Milner Place will be reading his own poetry. Admission is free, refreshments are available and everyone is welcome.

NORTH Shore Methodist Church, Dickson Road, is holding a summer special on September 5 featuring the Blackpool Ladies Choir. The concert begins at 7.30pm and tickets at £3 are available on the door. Refreshments will be available.

THE Northern Lights Astrological Society will next meet at the Waterloo Hotel, Waterloo Road, on September 3 at 8pm to discuss all things astrological. New faces are assured of a very warm welcome.

THE monthly meeting of Little Thornton WI will be at St John's Church hall from 7.30pm on September 5. Speaker Carole Turner's theme will be "The smell of the greasepaint, the roar of the crowd."
