CHORLEY is a club steeped in FA Cup history and they begin their quest to relive their past glories tomorrow at Northallerton in the pre qualifying round.
In 1986, the Magpies reached the second round proper after a 3-0 victory over Wolves at Burnden Park in a second replay before losing 5-0 to Preston in a replay on Deepdale's plastic pitch.
There has also been first round proper action against Hartlepool and Altrincham.
"It is a competition we have done well in," said boss Ken Wright.
"And with the added incentive of the money that is available this time, it is important to progress.
"But we are under no illusions that the game will be difficult at Northallerton. They may be from a lower league but they will have home advantage. We have got to go there and make sure we put on a good show."
Victory Park though does resemble a casualty unit at the moment with Wright's walking wounded.
To mention just a few, Simon Kay (back), Damien Corcoran (cartilage), Lee Molyneux (medial ligament damage), David Eatock (knee), Danny Mills (knee) and Michael Wallace (ligament strain) are all doubts.
"We seemed to have carried on where we left off last season -- with injuries -- but we have just got to get on with it," added the Chorley boss.
