MAY I through your letters coloumn make a comment on the casino project for Blackpool.
We have just had our daughter and her husband for a short break and the casino project came up.
She told us that she had been talking to friends in the Mansfield area of Nottinghamshire and the reaction was that if the casinos were given the go-ahead they would never holiday in Blackpool again as they wouldn't want to bring their children (our granchildren) to a town that is a gambling paradise.
So Blackpool Council and Tourism Agency be warned.
Also hoteliers be warned as these families are your customers and your livelihood. (How many more families are saying the same?)
So if Blackpool is serious about having families to holiday, they should do something to make the town family friendly not gambling friendly.
I would like to ask also that if this casino idea is such a good one, why did the South Coast resorts turn it down flat?
