TWO pals from the Blackburn area had a close shave - all in the name of charity.
Simon Brown and David Eagles wanted to raise cash for Manchester's Christie Hospital to show their thanks to staff who had looked after family members and friends. The pair managed to raise £1,000 after undergoing a sponsored head shave, and more money is yet to come in. The cash was raised with the help of Simon and David's friends, family and work colleagues. A raffle was also held which boosted the collection further.
A cheque to the hospital was presented at the Rising Sun pub in Whalley New Road on Thursday night.
