PETER Muir, 43, of Stonyhurst Close, Blackburn, was bound over in £100 to keep the peace for 12 months when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates and admitted a breach of the peace.
The court heard that a police officer called to a disturbance in Oakenhurst Road found Muir shouting at a woman called Elizabeth Armstrong.
He refused to calm down and was clearly drunk.
Simon Farnsworth, defending, said Muir and Miss Armstrong had enjoyed a long, if sometimes stormy, relationship.
"On this occasion, fuelled by drink, they ended up arguing," said Mr Farnsworth.
"They have both said to me today that they held themselves responsible."
