A FATHER of two, abusive to police at a garage, told an officer he would knock his head off.
Burnley magistrates heard how Anthony Seedhall, 26, told police to move their car after the defendant stopped near them at Kitchens, Burnley, in the early hours.
Seedhall, of Bevington Close, Burnley, admitted threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and was conditionally discharged for 12 months.
David Lawson, defending, said Bevington and his girlfriend had been at home and their eight-months-old baby had had difficulty sleeping.
The couple decided to take their children out in the car to see if the infant would go to sleep and when Seedhall went to the petrol station shop, the police car parked behind him and blocked his path.
He opened his door and politely asked the officer to move the car, but the officer banged on Seedhall's car window with his fists, startling the baby.
The defendant was annoyed and accepted he used the words attributed to him in the heat of the moment.
