RESIDENTS in the Whitefield ward of Nelson have been getting more involved in the regeneration of their neighbourhood and in community consultations.
Ten residents from the area took part in a training project at St Mary's Church, Nelson, and will be presented with their certificates at the church on Monday.
The courses are part of the Pendle Partnership funded Active Neighbourhoods project. Co-ordinator Naheed Ashraf said: "The first day of the course was based on learning the techniques needed to carry out a consultation. The second day was more practical and included face-to-face interviews with Whitefield residents, asking for their views on issues that directly affect them.
"Their views are vital to the success of regeneration projects. This course gives everyone a chance to have their say."
