DIGNITARIES from East Lancashire took a trip back in time as they toured the scenes of Victorian murders in Clitheroe.
Led by Simon Entwistle, of Ribble Valley Borough Council, they faced up to their fears as they were talked through the legend of Peg O'Nell whose ghost supposedly claims a life every seven years by drowning them in the River Ribble, where she herself died. In addition to the Mayor of Clitheroe, Coun Mary Robinson, several other mayors, mayoress and councillors were in attendance for the walk on Wednesday, to raise money for the Clitheroe Friends of Chernobyl charity.
Mr Entwistle regularly holds ghost walks in both Clitheroe and Blackburn, which recount genuine ghost stories, murders and body snatches.
