SOLDIERS from Burnley Army careers office offered help and advice to students at Townley High School during a year 11 leadership skills day.
The day was designed to test the organisational, team building and problem solving skills of students. The army was drafted in to help them build a bridge from plywood and rope.
Ten teams competed for the prize of best bridge and the winners were presented with medals by Captain John Evans. He said: "This is an ideal opportunity for the students to learn both about their own capabilities as well as about the opportunities available to them in the Army."
