A MAN was taken to hospital after a crash on the M65 which caused a huge tailback.
Firefighters assisted in removing the man from his car, but it is not thought he was trapped in the vehicle.
Four cars, including a Nissan Sunny, were involved in the collision, which happened on the east-bound carriageway, between junction 9 and 10, close to the Halifax turn-off.
Police, fire and an incident support unit also attended the scene.
A motorcyclist was also taken to hospital with minor injuries after a collision with a car near to junction five, at about 11.45am on Saturday, when the biker, who has not been named, collided with a red Ford Mondeo.
The motorway was reduced to one lane for several hours while police carried out an accident investigation.
