GOLFERS in Colne have given almost £700 to the Pendleside Hospice, Reedley, fund-raising appeal.
Colne Golf Club raised the cash throughout the year with a number of events including a competition day, president's, captain's and lady captain's days.
Raffles also helped to boost the collection.
Club captain Peter Wilson commented: "We are constantly holding events to raise money for charities and we are delighted to support the Hospice being such a worthwhile and much needed service for our community."
The operational cost of Pendleside now exceeds £1 million a year with only 23 per cent being funded by the East Lancashire Health Authority.
The cheque was handed over at the club on Saturday to Pat Beale from the Colne and Nelson fundraising group.
