GREAT Harwood clinched the Ramsbottom Cup with professional Fahan Adil on top form.

The Harwood professional batted through his side's innings to secure victory by six wickets.

Earby had earlier struggled to 142 with professional Alex Scholefield scoring 31 and Chris Walton 33.

Adil was backed up by Australian Cameron McKay with 20.

Harwood also put themselves in with a chance of snatching the league title after beating long time leaders Read. Adil scored 81 not out in the rain affected game after Nick Marsh had scored 70 for Read.

Cherry Tree slipped up as they went down to defeat in another rain affected match. Whalley snatched victory by just two runs after setting a target of 183-9. The league leaders were on 133-7 when the rain hit.

Settle dismissed Baxenden for 98 and picked up a two wicket victory despite Pete Usher's 5-24 performance.

Oswaldtwistle's Will Carr set up a ten wicket win over Blackburn Northern when he took 5-24. Northern were dismissed for 72 and Oswaldtwistle knocked off the winning runs without losing a wicket.

Clitheroe professional Dexter Fitton scored 117 with Andrew Bones on 51 as they set a target of 241-6. Bottom club Edenfield reached 167-9 with Mick Dewhurst taking 5-67.

Barnoldswick were shot out for 69 with Quasim Ali picking up five wickets and Padiham reached victory with seven wickets down.

Trevor Kegg captured four wickets for Earby as Ribblesdale Wanderers were dis missed for 115. The Applegarth club went on to secure a six wicket win with Stephen Pickles scoring 42.

Read won the Lawrenson Cup final after dismissing Salesbury for 132. The victors had lost eight wickets when they scored the winning runs.
