THE Nelson goal machine clicked into gear against a Daisy Hill side who were made to pay for their tough uncompromising approach in the best possible way.
Scott Gilchrist opened the scoring when he skilfully lobbed the keeper after only four minutes and the Blues went 2-0 up when Gilchrist's shot was chested into the net by Jonathan Irvine 12 minutes later.
Four minutes into the second half, Mick Molyneux headed home from a corner to give the Blues a three goal lead but Barry Edwardson replied after 52 minutes with a good finish to make it 3-1.
Lee Coldridge added the fourth on 70 minutes with a lob and then subs Nigel Coates and Kiko Rodriguez combined to set up their sides fith goal which Stuart Mulligan drove home from a narrow angle on 81 minutes.
Two minutes later Dave Leigh made it 6-1 with a Beckham-style free kick.
Coates made it 7-1 when he broke clear on 86 minutes and three minutes later Steve Ellaby turned Coldridge's low cross into his own net to make it eight.
Mulligan completed the rout in the final minute.
RESULT: NELSON...9 DAISY HILL...1
