THE misery continues for Clitheroe and their bewildered boss Dave Burgess.
But Burgess believes the tide will turn soon - if only his NWCL Division One side can get in front!
"We have played five competitive games this season and not been in the lead in any.
"It means we are chasing everything and I sure we will be okay if we can just push our noses in front against someone."
But the time Lee Cryer got on the scoresheet on Saturday it was little more than a consolation.
Cryer struck in injury time, a well taken effort too, but Prescot were already in the box seat by then. Goals from Kevin Garforth (57) and Neil Robinson (88) had put the game beyond the Ribble Valley lads.
"We were actually attacking when they scored their first goal," groaned Burgess who has seen his early season hampered by injury, suspension and work commitment problems.
"That is not an excuse but perhaps it is a reason why we haven't got going yet, hopefully we will put it right soon - it would be nice to start at Ramsbottom on Tuesday night.
"We haven't got a win in five matches and Clitheroe is not used to that sort of run. We won't be moaning and groaning though, the answer lies in hard work - and getting in front!"
