FOR people who are NOT interested in football any weekend, Brewers Fayre is the place to be.
The chain is offering freedom from football fever across its nationwide network for anyone wanting an escape.
Anyone mentioning the game within earshot of diners at the Railway Hotel, Chorley, the Spread Eagle, Blackburn, the Old Mother Redcap, Blackburn or Bentley Wood Farm, Burnley will have to donate £1 to charity!
Area manager Jim Owthwaite said: "Brewers Fayre is the place to be if you want to escape from the football or simply want to avoid knowing results, just like Bob and Terry in that famous episode of The Likely Lads.
"We pride ourselves on our freshly cooked food, fantastic value and warm welcome, not our football expertise.
"So if any of our team hear any football talk in the restaurant when matches are being played, they will be giving the yellow card to customers and taking £1 off them for charity.
"The same goes for customers who hear any staff gossiping about matches. And if anyone is unhappy with any decision, I'll intervene as I'm referee for the day."
