A TAXI driver was badly hurt in an attack by four men in Darwen town centre.
The men, aged between 18 and 25, got into the taxi in Blackburn on Darwen Street, at 1.55am on Saturday.
The driver drove them to Darwen where he was attacked. One grabbed the driver while another man punched him repeatedly before making off with a bag of money.
The gang was seen running towards Duckworth Street. They were described as smartly dressed. One wore a dark top, another a white top and the man in the front passenger seat had short brown hair.
Inspector Tracy O'Gara said: "We are appealing for witnesses to this serious crimeto contact us on 01254 353842."
