A PET shop in Rawtenstall has won a national award for helping to make people more aware of how to care for their pets.
Next Tuesday Rossendale Dog Warden David East will be presenting Barbara Ingham and her staff from Pet's Corner in Bank Street with the national award for pet shops who held an event during National Pet Week.
More than 700 shops entered the competition, but Pet's Corner was picked as the best entry.
Mr East said: "She presented a file containing photographs, information sheets, videos and letters from children who had attended the day.
"She also had local clowns Lorenzo and Mrs E come along who are both deaf have a hearing dog.
"They also had a hearing dog in training and gave demonstrations to the children. There was face painting, animal advice was given and children were able to hold small animals including hamsters and rats under supervision."
Mr East attended to give advice on caring for dogs and brought the Rossendale Rover mascot and there was microchipping of animals.
