TWO men burst into an Atherton pub and stole cash from a safe after threatening the landlord and his wife with a gun.
The raiders, both wearing balaclavas, broke into the living quarters of Paddy's Hump in Tyldesley Road early yesterday morning.
Police say the pair threatened the couple with a firearm before forcing the landlord to open his safe. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The first thug is described as white, 5ft 8ins, and of stocky build. His accomplice is described as white 5ft 6ins and very slim. They wore black clothing and gloves and spoke with Liverpudlian accents.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses who saw anything suspicious at 5am on Monday to contact Leigh CID on 0161 856 7255 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
