ACCRINGTON Stanley signed former Burnley defender Steve Morgan last night as they attempt to stop their defence leaking goals.
The Reds have conceded 13 goals in their five opening UniBond Premier Division fixtures and boss John Coleman had to act quickly if Stanley are to make a serious push for the Nationwide Conference this season.
The 31-year-old was one of Clarets boss Stan Ternent's first signings and spent a season at Turf Moor in the 1998-99 season.
The Oldham-born left sided player also played for Blackpool, Plymouth and Coventry while Ternent signed him from Wigan.
Since then, the former England youth international has been at Hull City and has recently been playing in the League of Wales.
Morgan will go straight into the Stanley side who face a league clash at Colwyn Bay tonight.
The Reds are desperate to bounce back after three losses and two wins in their opening games - including a 3-2 reverse against Vauxhall at the Crown Ground on Saturday.
