A NEW police chief has been announced for Rossendale West.
Inspector Roger Ravenscroft, 39, has charge of Rawtenstall, Haslingden and surrounding areas.
He began his career in Gateshead, transferred to Lancashire and has worked in Blackburn, Accrington, Barnoldswick and most recently as a response inspector in Blackburn.
Mr Ravenscroft said: "I am looking forward to the challenge of returning to community-based policing and building on the good work of my predecessor, Ewan Cameron.My principle aim is to drive down crime and disorder in the area."
