AN initiative to save lives in the building industry drives into Blackburn tomorrow.
Organised by the Health and Safety Executive, the Working Well Together scheme has toured the North West, offering construction workers invaluable advice which could well save their lives.
In the year up to April, 14 construction workers have been killed through work in the North West -- seven of those in Lancashire.
The campaign is in line with the Government's and Health and Safety Commission (HSC) targets to cut deaths and injuries.
Tomorrow, the scheme visits the Alston Power CHP site, at Livesey Road, Blackburn, where workers will see the message reinforced.
Kevin Myers, HSE's chief inspector of construction and chairman of the HSC's construction industry Advisory Committee said: "It is totally unacceptable for people to be injured or killed while working in the construction industry.
"Through activities like the bus, the campaign is helping to create a safer industry and one that construction workers have the right to expect."
