I DON'T know about you but I wouldn't like to be a wannabe Soapstar if the first episode of the follow-on to Popstars was anything to go by.
I thought that Popstars would be a tough act to follow but it looks like they have hired another nasty Nigel in the form of a frizzy haired Anne Robinson look-a-like.
In between the stripping fire-eaters, comedy assassins and Welsh embalmers, the Soapstars auditions attracted some very strange people to say the least.
Episode One followed events in Bristol, Birmingham and Sheffield as thousands of hopefuls competed to win roles as the newest family in the award-winning Emmerdale.
To succeed they had just 15 seconds to make an impression on Paul De Freitas, Yvon Grace and Bill Lyons, or face rejection.
My money is on stand-up comedienne Sue Sweeney who auditioned alongside her daughter. Both were desperate for the big time but only the most talented of the pair made it through -- the mother. I can just see her in Emmerdale as the next Kathy/Kim.
