I CANNOT believe the state of play on the roads in Leyland at the moment. Roadworks and temporary traffic lights have sprung up all over the place. In fact, you can't get out of the town without running into one or more long cue of traffic.
It's just typical of South Ribble and the county council to agree to all these road works being done at the same time without a thought for the motorist.
This week it has taken me almost an hour to get from Leyland to Preston by car -- a journey that normally takes around 20 minutes.
From my home I ran into road works in Fox Lane, then on Slater Lane at the junction with the by-pass and later on Schleswig Way, at Penwortham.
If I had gone the other way I would have run into traffic cues on Golden Hill Lane and at the Leyland Tiger in Leyland Lane. Going on through Lostock Hall there would have been, yet again, more road works at the Pear Tree Garage in Lostock Hall.
Please don't dig up any more roads -- I'm at my wits end.
