BURY tennis ace Lisa Cartwright made it a hat-trick of hat-tricks when she appeared in the Lancashire LTA County Tennis Championships last weekend at the Bolton Arena.
The 29-year-old full-time coach at the Hawkshaw club took the ladies singles, mixed doubles and ladies doubles titles -- a remarkable achievement!
And it was only when Lisa checked back on the trophies with mum Sylvia and dad Ron that she discovered the last time the treble was achieved was exactly ten years ago -- and she did it!
Not only that, Lisa also picked up the "big three" a year earlier in 1990!
This time around, Lisa came from a set behind to see off the challenge of Blackburn's Liz Thomas in the ladies' singles (1-6, 6-3, 7-5).
Then Liz got the Cartwright treatment a second time when Lisa and partner Rachel Anders of Wigan defeated her and Manchester's Jane Hunt (4-6, 6-2, 6-0) in the ladies doubles.
And to cap of a marvellous weekend, Lisa teamed up with Bolton's Jonathan Davies to take the mixed doubles trophy after a 6-4, 7-6 straight sets win over Jane Hunt and Tom Bamber (Southport).
