Dear Sir,
After reading all about the clamping down on under-age drinking in the Journal, I thought 'what a laugh'.
What happened to the police on Thursday night, August 23, when I phoned to say a gang of youths -- boys and girls -- had sprayed paint all over my door and wall, and all were a little intoxicated?
No-one arrived.
On Sunday, August 26, when again, youths aged 14 to 16 were breaking bottles and intoxicated, no-one arrived.
On Monday, August 27, a gang of 14-16 year olds was drunk again and breaking bottles. No-one arrived.
I have also asked for a police visit during the day to discuss the problem. No-one has been yet.
Could you please tell me where they are clamping down, because its certainly not in this area of Leigh.
Well, low and behold, in the middle of writing this letter, guess what? They are back again.
Police have been informed but, yet again, I have not seen them.
Mrs D A Fearnley
Chadwick Street, Leigh
