A HOLCOMBE Brook woman hopes to prove herself hot stuff in the world of catering.
Mrs Yasmin Gill is combining her work as a chiropodist by finding her feet in a new business, cooking and serving a host of Indian curry meals for clients.
She has harnessed her love of curry cuisine by establishing her own new catering company and serving up mouthwatering curry meals at Bury's popular LA Fitness centre.
Yasmin, married with three children, explained: "I've been a state-registered chiropodist for the past 13 years. And since last August, I've been working a couple of mornings a week at the Sheridan Spa at LA Fitness as well as doing home visits."
Far from putting her feet up, busy Yasmin is expanding her business interests with the setting up of her new company, aptly named "A Taste of India". She said: "It's something I have always wanted to do. With my children growing up, I'm finding I've more time on my hands."
Although she has not undergone any formal catering training, Yasmin credits her own mother as being responsible for teaching her the art and skills of cooking which is certainly serving her well.
Yasmin,of Beauly Close, approached the manager of LA Fitness to ask if she could serve the curry meals at the premises. So far, she's catered for more than three parties.
"I offer a three course meals," Yasmin continued, "usually for between 30 and 40 clients and I have three set menus.
"I do everything myself. I'll start a couple of days beforehand and begin cutting up all the ingredients. I will cook the meals in my kitchen at home and then take the food with me to LA Fitness. I have a chef in the kitchen there who helps me put the food out."
And there's more on the business menu for the ambitious cook and chiropodist.
"I'd really like to get involved in cookery lessons and also to cook for dinner parties," she says.
