Clarets boss Stan Ternent is looking to his players to keep their feet on the ground as they seek to stay top of Division One tomorrow.
Rotherham United are the visitors to Turf Moor and, while the newly promoted Yorkshiremen have only two points to their name, Ternent is determined that his side should maintain the standards that have taken them to the top.
"We cannot get carried away with it all, we have had a good start and that is all," said the Burnley boss.
"In this division any side can beat any other on the day, so we have to be at our best.
"Ronnie Moore has done a fantastic job getting Rotherham into the first division on not a lot of money.
"Rotherham have had two consecutive promotions, they are a good side and you underestimate them at your peril."
The Clarets achieved their highest standing for 28 years with a roller-coaster ride 3-2 win at Bradford City last Sunday and, having reached the summit, Ternent felt that his players faced a new challenge -- being up there to be shot at.
"We are favourites to win the game, but like every game it is going to be a difficult match," said Ternent.
"If you are top of the league then you are there to be shot at, but it is another step in my players' education.
"If they are going to be successful then they will have to learn to handle that situation.
"The higher you go the harder it becomes, but we will be doing our best to try and stay where we are."
Ternent's options are increased with the return of striker Gareth Taylor from duty with the Welsh squad, while defender Mitchell Thomas played a full 90 minutes in Wednesday night's 3-0 reserve team defeat at Tranmere Rovers.
"Gareth flew back in from Oslo yesterday, so he will train today and we will see how he goes," explained Ternent.
"Mitchell played a full game in midweek and came through that without a problem.
"He may need a few more games before he is fully match fit, but at a push we could play him against Rotherham if we need him to."
The only absentees remain defenders Graham Branch and Ian Cox, who both have Achilles tendon injuries, while striker Dimitrios Papadopoulos has remained with the Greek under-21 squad who are preparing to play in the Mediterra nean Championship.
And Ternent reserved a thought for striker Ian Moore, who pits himself against father Ronnie, the Millers manager, for the first time.
"I'll give him ten minutes and if he doesn't shape up then he's coming off," joked Ternent.
"Seriously, business is business and I am sure that Ian will be doing his best for Burnley and wanting to score a goal or two."
