ALDER Grange High School, Rawtenstall, became Action Grange as pupils took two days off lessons to have fun.
As well as the traditional outing to a theme park, they had their choice of 30 different activities, ranging from creating jewellery to judo, film making and fishing.
The local community was also keen to contribute. Parkwood Tennis Club gave pupils free use of their new court at Haslingden Sports Centre and Salford City Reds Rugby Club took eight young professionals to coach pupils at no cost.
Headteacher Iain Hulland said: "There was a definite buzz about the school over the two days. We'll certainly do it again."
