EAST Lancashire's own antiques expert Eric Knowles is returning to the area to value specialist treasures which may have been long hidden in attics and cupboards.
Nelson-born Eric, a Clarets fan, will be offering advice on works on art dating from the late 19th and early 20th century which have an art deco or art nouveau design, such as Clarice Cliff and Lalique.
His visit to Hoghton Tower, Hoghton, on Tuesday, September 18, from 11am until 3pm will boost the coffers of Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust, with visitors paying £2 for the first item they bring and £1 for subsequent items.
Eric said: "The day is a bonus for me because I get to go into Hoghton Tower and that in itself is worth the drive up from and back to London.
"What makes my job so exciting is that I just don't know what to expect."
General valuers Christopher Surfleet and Henrietta Graham will also be on hand to value antiques of all styles and ages including furniture, silver, paintings and ceramics.
For more information about the day contact Mr Surfleet on 0161 429 8283.
