CHORLEY took the maximum 15 points from their last match of the season against Leyland Motors at Windsor Park to finish third in the Northern Premier League, ensuring a place in next season's Lancashire Cup competition.
Their man-of-the-match was England Under-16 player Tom Smith, who scored 53 in Chorley's total of 158 for eight, wicketkeeper Neil Senior adding an important late flourish with 29.
Brilliant fielding by Iqbal Patel, who achieved two run-outs, then undermined the start of Motors' reply and the visitors were eventually bowled out for 110.
Patel claimed three for 19 and there were also three wickets for professional Josh Marquet, while Smith completed a personal triumph by taking two for six.
