NEIL Spencer is never happier than when his feet are firmly in East Lancashire.
Spencer dusted off his shooting boots after missing the soccer season's early weeks due to work commitments in Saudi Arabia and promtly got his name on the scoresheet for fast-improving Clitheroe.
Spencer grabbed the Blues fourth goal in a second successive 4-1 win, a clear indication that the Ribble Valley side are back in business after a faltering start to the new NWCL Division One campaign.
Manager Dave Burgess was away at his best friend's wedding - but Clitheroe made sure victory was never in doubt.
Lee Cryer, a prolific marksman in recent years, got Clitheroe off to the perfect start, with a well-taken effort on 19 minutes while Richard Fogarty added a second (55).
Neil Reynolds made it 3-0 midway through the second half and, after Joe Walker had pulled a consolation back for the visitors, returning Spencer had the last word.
Absent Burgess was suitable impressed: "I've head enough to know we did well.. we must try to go for a hat-trick of wins when Warrington come to our place on Tuesday night."
RESULT: CLITHEROE...4 NANTWICH... 1
