GRANDPARENTS Bill and Brenda Garnett celebrated their golden wedding with a family party at the Higher Trapp Hotel in Simonstone.
The couple, of Coal Clough Lane, Burnley, met when they both worked in Jimmy Nelson's mill in Nelson and were married about two-and-a-half years later at St Matthew's Church, Burnley.
Brenda, 69, is originally from Burnley, while Bill, 73, hails from Nelson.
They have two daughters, Helena and Doreen and one son, Barry and five grandchildren.
An open house was held on Saturday, when the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley, Coun Jack Alston and his wife, Mary, called in to wish them well.
