PLANS to redevelop Long Hill Farm in Foulridge have finally been approved by councillors.
Two amended applications to demolish the farmhouse, in Hill Top, and build a larger two-storey house, as well as converting an attached two-storey barn into a house and building a rear porch, were given the go-ahead by Colne and District Committee.
A decision was deferred twice in July for a site visit and more recently for the applicant to provide amended plans.
The original proposal was to replace the farmhouse with a triple-fronted stone gabled house.
The width of the proposed four-bedroomed house has since been reduced and the existing car shelter was not included on the amended plans.
Amended plans for the barn conversion showed less alteration than the original but the applicant still wanted to insert more new openings than approved for a barn conversion in November 1997.
Case officer Janet Filbin told councillors she recommended approval of both applications subject to conditions.
She pointed out: "Whereas not all the requests made by the case officer have been adhered to the general picture that the amended proposals portray is one which would not have a significantly greater environmental impact than the existing farmhouse."
