THE remains of tragic little Chloe Rowley have finally been laid to rest -- nearly seven months after she died.
Two-and-a-half-year old Chloe, whose family live in the Bold Venture area of Darwen, was born with a severe kidney condition and she lost her fight for life in March.
She underwent an operation which involved the removal of two of her kidneys.
But her mother, Georgina Shorrock, 23, found that the Co-op Funeral Services in Blackburn had mistakenly put Chloe's headstone on an empty plot away from Chloe's remains.
She then decided that the headstone's position was actually in a better plot than her original choice and requested that Chloe's remains be exhumed to be laid to rest in the more favourable plot.
Georgina said Rossendale and Darwen MP Janet Anderson had helped her push her request through and permission to have Chloe's ashes exhumed was granted.
Georgina, who has two other children, Corrie, seven and Jessica, seven months, said: "I am pleased she is where I wanted her to be.
"It left me in a state. It was unbelievable and added to our bereavement to have our daughter's casket moved again. It was not very nice."
Georgina said the original plot was at the end of a row where toys, a windmill and fresh flowers had been stolen from a grave.
The Co-op apologised for its mistake at the time, but Georgina said she has found the whole episode very stressful.
She said: "I have had to face two funerals, but I have come to terms to where she is now. I have had enough and we have to try and get on with our lives now."
