PRESTON striker Steve Basham will come face to face with the man who could have ended his career tonight - but will only have his mind on sealing a North End win.
The Deepdale side travel to Prenton Park to face Second Division Tranmere Rovers in the second round of the Worthington Cup.
Basham is just coming back to fitness following the last time the two side's met in the First Division last season.
Jason Koumas' late challenge on Basham last October broke the 23-year-old's leg - and left him fighting for his football career.
Basham, however, has made a good comeback and has been playing in the reserves and featured as a substitute in recent league games. With striker Jon Macken - who has handed in a transfer request - still struggling with a hamstring injury and Northern Ireland international David Healy taking a knock to his head on Saturday, Bash could get his chance up front.
Winger Iain Anderson is a doubt although midfielder Mark Rankine could be back after missing Saturday's 2-1 loss against Wolves with a hamstring strain.
TRANMERE have decided to refund the coach fares of fans who travelled to see Brentford hammer Dave Watson's side 4-0.
