THE sound of music echoed through Clitheroe when youngsters put on a show to raise money for the Chernobyl Children. 'Song and Dance for Chernobyl' was a sell-out, even before the Friday night concert at the Grand Cinema, Clitheroe and organisers even had to turn people away.
The production, brainchild of Clitheroe author Laura Bailey, featured about 100 pupils from Nigel Kirk's Danceworks, which has classes in Clitheroe and Blackburn. Laura said: "There was a wonderful atmosphere on the evening and we have raised £1,228 for the charity.
" The acts only had one dress rehearsal and I thank them all and the public for their support."
