TWO special constables from Darwen were awarded a Divisional Commander's Commendation recently.
Section officers Chris Aspinall and Pam Walker have worked in Darwen for a number of years. A police spokeswoman said during their duty time they had been very productive and taken an active role while out on patrol.
The pair have been involved in several arrests, including one in July which involved youths attempting to steal a car in a compound at Mayfield flats.
They were able to identify two offenders who they arrested and took to Blackburn, both officers took an active part in the investigation.
The police spokeswoman said: "Their professionalism and enthusiasm have been commented upon by both police officers and members of the public alike and it is in recognition of their all-round performance that they are awarded a Divisional Commander's Commendation."
