ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman is hoping the fans will get behind his full team tonight when they take on Droylsden at the Crown Ground - even if wantaway striker Gary Williams starts.
The 21-year-old has handed in a transfer request last week as he says he wants to play at a higher level but Coleman says there is no bad feeling.
"Gary trained with us the other night and there was no problem," said the Reds chief. "It hasn't had any affect on the lads. They were all quite bubbly together.
"And I would like to think the fans will support whatever team I put out as they have done all the time I have been here.
"They, like me, only want people who want to play for the club but there isn't a problem with Gary."
It's another headache for Coleman who has watched his side have a difficult start to a campaign which promised so much during the pre season.
The Reds were hoping to make a serious charge for the Conference but have so far won just two games, lost four and conceded 16 goals in their six UniBond Premier games.
"I am disappointed with the start we have had," said Coleman. "I feel we should have at least six more points on top of what we have for the way we have played.
"But you can't keep bleating on about it.
"We haven't got them and there is only the management and players who can now put it right and help us climb up the table.
'Nobody likes the situation at the moment and there is nobody more concerned than me and the players
"But my players are good enough to turn it around. We know we haven't started well but we can still do something about it."
Stanley signed former Burnley player Steve Morgan to sharpen up a leaky defence last week but he is still finding his feet after missing the first weeks of the season.
The 31-year-old made his debut in the 3-0 loss at Colwyn Bay last Tuesday. "It was difficult for him after missing some of the early part of the season and it will take a bit of time," said Coleman.
"But he should be a good attribute, he is good in the air and a good talker. He will get better for us."
Coleman is still looking to strengthen his squad especially if Williams does leave the Crown Ground.
"We have never stopped looking in the last six months but I'm not going to bring anybody in who isn't better than what we have got," he added.
Meanwhile Nelson have a tough game when they take on North East side Norton and Stockton Ancients in the FA Vase first qualifying round replay at Victoria Park.
The two sides drew 2-2 on Saturday after extra-time and Blues John Bailey is hoping his side will do the business at home tonight to seal a home game against Garforth Town in the next round.
"I thought we should have won it up there but the wind spoiled the game as a spectacle," said Bailey.
"All four goals were scored in the same goal by the side with the wind so it showed how much difference it made.
"I am quietly confident we can finish it off. They have a long journey to make during the week and I think it will benefit us."
Scoring goals certainly hasn't been a problem for Nelson - they have 21 in their seven games.
"We do though need to tighten up at the back and I am still on the lookout for a defender and midfielder," added the boss.
Also in action tonight are Great Harwood, who travel to second placed St Helens in the NWCL Division One hoping to build on their 3-1 win over Flixton on Saturday.
And there is a local derby at Holt House where Colne welcome Padiham, both hoping to get a win to kick start their seasons in the NWCL Division Two.
