A DECISION on whether to allow advertising posters to be mounted on the walls of the Pendle Leisure Centre, Colne, has been deferred for further discussions.
Councillors agreed that the application for 31 wall mounted advertisements on the eastern and southern sides was too overbearing and that certain ones should be selected.
They deferred their decision so that they could decide which would be appropriate.
Pendle Leisure Trust submitted the plans which included some poster panels along the walls of the sports centre on the approach from the car park to the main entrance, with the majority proposed for the walls opposite Primet Hill.
Planners recommended refusal of the application on the grounds that they would dominate the walls and would be contrary to the Pendle Local Plan.
