MORECAMBE play host to Hereford on Saturday and travel to Scarborough next Tuesday night.

They will be hoping that their excellent home form travels better in the coming week, rather than seeing their away form catch on at Christie Park.

Morecambe 1 Barnet 0

THE Shrimps' home help Robbie Talbot celebrated yet another Christie Park strike with Morecambe's victory in their first ever game against Barnet.

The newly relegated London club saw Talbot break the deadlock just a few moments after the half time break.

Morecambe were in control throughout the match as Barnet showed just why they haven't won an away match throughout this season and most of last.

However, until Talbot made the breakthrough, the Shrimps had struggled to create chances.

Talbot, played in by John Norman, had no difficulty holding off the Barnet defence to finish with customary coolness.

Barnet's best chance to break back into the game came though striker Neil Midgeley, but he shot wide.

Forest Green Rovers 3 Morecambe 1

MORECAMBE couldn't repeat last year's FA cup heroics in this year's visit to the Lawn.

The tiny village of Forest Green was a happy hunting ground for the Shrimps last season, but this time round.

And, for the first half hour, it looked like it could be again, especially after Ian Arnold scored from a free kick.

However, that lead lasted just 10 minutes until pacy former Stockport man Simon Traves created the chance for Mark Cooper to equalise.

That was how it stayed until half time when Carl Heggs, formerly of Carlisle, beat the visitor's offside trap to equalise.

Again, Morecambe put the pressure on and tried to grab the equaliser, but were undone at the back.

Heggs again played a role, creating the chance for Mark Shaw to volley home.
