INSPIRED by the Eric Morecambe statue on Morecambe promenade, a fan has suggested that a tribute to the late Les Dawson also be erected down the coast at Lytham St Annes. Tracy, the widow of legendary funnyman Les Dawson, approves of the idea and is already forming ideas herself about the statue.
Tracy Dawson thinks that Fairhaven Lake would be the perfect setting for the tribute as it was a treasured place for the couple and their children.
As so many visitors are attracted to Morecambe to see and have their picture taken with their hero, Eric, they see no reason why they can't emulate that success. It has been argued that Morecambe is obviously leading the way with the humorous, and now famous, statue and proving to be a great source of inspiration to others.
