MITCHELL Thomas completed another 90 minutes for Clarets reserves at Turf Moor last night as he continued on the comeback trail.

The 36-year-old defender must now wait to see if he will figure in Stan Ternent's plans for Saturday's visit of Walsall.

Thomas has been a virtual ever present for the Clarets since his move from Luton Town, missing just five league games in his two seasons at Turf Moor.

But a pre-season abductor injury has meant he has not featured in the Clarets flying start to the new campaign, although he did get as far as the bench against Rotherham United last weekend.

Last night's match against Wrexham reserves was his second full game and he may now be in line for a recall alongside Steve Davis in defence against the Saddlers. Gordon Armstrong is suspended and Ternent must shuffle his pack.

Ian Cox and Lee Briscoe, who have also been out injured, did not feature against the Welsh side but could still be in line for a return to first team action.

John Mullin, who like Thomas has been a first team regular over the last two seasons, also featured for the reserves last night as he tried to break back into Stan Ternent's side.

Mullin paid the price for a disappointing display against Rushden and Diamonds in the Worthington Cup tie last month and has only made the bench once since then.
