DARWEN'S Lib Dem Councillor Paul Browne has challenged the town's MP to support the Home Energy Conservation Bill.
The Bill, a cross-party initiative backed by Liberal Democrat MPs Matthew Taylor and Don Foster, will ensure the achievement of the 30 per cent energy efficiency improvement targets under the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995.
It will also set up a national licensing scheme for houses in multiple occupation.
Coun Browne said: "Labour and the Tories claim to support these objectives. But words are easy. I call upon the local MP Janet Anderson to turn fine words into action and pledge to turn up in the House of Commons and vote."
