AMAZON and Yahoo! are accepting donations from customers for victims of the US terror attacks.
Both have set up systems to allow visitors to make direct contributions to the American Red Cross.
A note on Amazon's US home page says almost 60,000 donations have already been made, amounting to almost $2 million.
Payments are made using Amazon's Honour System, which usually lets the company pass on small gratuities to third-party websites on behalf of their customers.
The dotcom has confirmed it has waived a normal small fee levied for using the service.
Yahoo! meanwhile is asking registered users to donate to the same organisation via a secure form linked to its home page.
