THE body of a man found dead in Bury's Kay Gardens early on Friday morning (Sept 7)has been identified as that of Paul Walsh (51) of Ainsworth.
Police cordoned off the area after bus drivers discovered the body at 5.20am. It was covered in blood and vomit on a bench outside the Bon Marche clothes shop.
It is understood that Mr Walsh, a divorcee of Church Street, was an alcoholic who regularly visited the town centre. On Wednesday of last week, paramedics were called to Bury Interchange after he was found collapsed in one of the waiting areas.
Mr Walsh's body was taken to Fairfield General Hospital's mortuary where a post-mortem examination was carried out.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and the coroner has been informed. Several bunches of flowers have been left at the bench by friends of Mr Walsh.
